Workshop Planned for Monroe’s POCD Update
Fitzgerald & Halliday Inc. and Town of Monroe
Monroe, CT- The Town of Monroe is currently working to update their Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD). The Plan, which must be updated every ten years by State statute, will provide a comprehensive roadmap for Monroe over the decade and covers topic areas such as land use, open space and environment, housing, transportation and infrastructure, town facilities and services, and economic development.
In support of this effort, the Town and its consultant, Fitzgerald & Halliday, will conduct a public workshop on Thursday, October 29th at 6:00 pm. Because of COVID related restrictions on the size of public gatherings, and out of concern for the safety of participants, this workshop will be conducted online.
The agenda of the workshop is as follows:
6:00 pm: Introduction to the Plan of Conservation and Development
6:15: Presentation of Early Findings
6:30: Transportation and Infrastructure Discussion
7:00: Housing Discussion
7:30: Economic Development Discussion
8:00: Open Space and Environment Discussion
8:30: Open Floor Discussion
8:50: Meeting Recap and Next Steps
The workshop will be conducted via Go-To-Meeting, which is accessible via computer, tablet, smartphone, or call-in. Participants will be able to ask questions and share ideas and comments during any of the five discussion periods.
