FOR ABSENTEE BALLOT VOTING
Tuesday, November 6, 2018 is Election Day.
The Office of the Town Clerk will have extended hours for absentee voting Saturday, November 3rd
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Persons who believe that they will be unable to vote in person on November 6thmay apply for an Absentee Ballot.
Acceptable reasons for voting in this manner are limited to the following:
Absence from Town during ALL the hours of voting (6:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.)
Service in the Armed Forces (including the Service Academies)
Religious tenets which forbid such activity on Election Day

GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION NOVEMBER 6, 2018
Tuesday, October 30th is the last day residents may register to vote prior to the November 6th election. This includes online, DMV, mail-in and in person. On Tuesday, October 30th the Registrars of Voters office will be open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
There will be Election Day Registration on November 6th in the Council Chambers 6:00 AM - 8:00 PM.

November 6, 2018 State Election
The Electors of the Town of Monroe are hereby noticed to meet at their respective polling places in said town on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, for the following purposes:
To cast their votes for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, United States Senator, Representative in Congress, State Senator, State Representative, Secretary of the State, Treasurer, Comptroller, Attorney General, and Judge of Probate.
To vote on the following questions for the approval or disapproval of a proposed AMENDMENT to the Constitution of Connecticut, a vote of “YES” being a vote for approval, and a vote of “NO” being a vote for disapproval:
Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to ensure (1) that all moneys contained in the Special Transportation Fund be used solely for transportation purposes, including the payment of debts of the state incurred for transportation purposes, and (2) that sources of funds deposited in the Special Transportation Fund be deposited in said fund so long as such sources are authorized by statute to be collected or received by the state?
Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to require (1) a public hearing and the enactment of legislation limited in subject matter to the transfer, sale or disposition of state-owned or state-controlled real property or interests in real property in order for the General Assembly to require a state agency to sell, transfer or dispose of any real property or interest in real property that is under the custody or control of the agency, and (2) if such property is under the custody or control of the Department of Agriculture or the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, that such enactment of legislation be passed by a two-thirds vote of the total membership of each house of the General Assembly?
The full text of such proposed questions with explanatory text, printed in accordance with §2-30a of the General Statutes, is available at the Monroe Town Clerk’s office for public distribution.
The vote on the proposed questions is taken pursuant to the Constitution of Connecticut.
Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling places is as follows:

District 4: Masuk High School-1014 Monroe Turnpike
Absentee Ballots will be counted at the following central location:
Monroe Town Hall – 7 Fan Hill Road – Monroe CT
Voting tabulators will be used. The polls will be opened at six o'clock in the morning (6:00 a.m.) and will remain open until eight o'clock in the evening (8:00 p.m.).
